To have MLM success using Twitter you need to build relationships. That means personally contacting people who are following you.

But the feature that will help you is the one that sends an email to your new followers as soon as they sign up. Just set it up to send a personal message thanking them for following you and you may want to say something like, “If you want to know more about me, go to” and link to your site or blog.
